Laryngeal endoprosthesis implantation: a new approach to the treatment of laryngeal collapse
Dra. Ana Espinosa is a highly experienced surgeon who works alongside Dr. Llinás at AniCura Valencia Sur Hospital Veterinario, specializing in the management of complex respiratory conditions.

The Case of Hanna
Hanna, a 8-year-old dog, arrived at AniCura Valencia Sur with a severe laryngeal collapse. Despite previously undergoing CO2 laser remodeling and palatoplasty, her respiratory condition had deteriorated to the point of becoming life-threatening.
Dra. Ana Espinosa faced a critical challenge: restoring Hanna’s airway without resorting to a tracheostomy (an invasive procedure with significant postoperative risks).

In a procedure lasting less than ten minutes, including suturing, a silicone laryngeal stent was implanted.
This device immediately restored Hanna’s breathing, preventing further complications and significantly improving her quality of life.

Advantages in the use of a silicone stent:
Quick and safe procedure, lasting less than ten minutes.
Avoids tracheostomy, reducing risks and improving recovery.
Immediate recovery, with normal breathing at the end of surgery.
Significant improvement in the patient's quality of life..
Silicone laryngeal stent implantation is a procedure that, together with suturing, can be completed in less than ten minutes.
